Working Groups

Working groups will advance the design and implementation of Drexel's academic transformation, while also engaging stakeholders at all levels and identifying necessary supports. Several working groups will be appointed in the following areas, or workstreams:

  • Curriculum, Calendar and Core Competencies:
    • Defining Drexel core competencies and designing their implementation through various instructional strategies;
    • Proposing models for curricular structure revision to support the calendar change from quarters to semesters and enable academic flexibility;
    • Developing the structural/technical foundations of the semester calendar at Drexel.
  • College/School Restructuring: Designing the process for integrating new college/school units, including the process for defining new, consistent administrative and academic structures, as well as how to support and engage stakeholder groups through this transformational change.
  • Consistent and Effective Policies/Practices: In coordination with other working groups, developing greater consistency of academic structures, policies, processes and guidelines to support collaboration, flexibility and efficiency for students, faculty and staff.

A call for self-nominations for working groups was announced on October 15, 2024. Working group memberships are expected to be announced in December.

Importantly, there will be numerous opportunities for faculty, professional staff and administrators to engage in this transformational work. We anticipate additional working groups being established when specific expertise/focus is required.
