Dear Colleagues,

I am thrilled to announce that we will soon launch the search for the founding dean of the academic unit that will unite the College of Computing & Informatics, College of Engineering and School of Biomedical Engineering, Science and Health Systems. This is more than a leadership search — it's the next step in building something truly new and impactful.

A search committee will be established comprising faculty and professional staff representatives of the three units, as well as other key colleagues. Dean David Brown, PhD, will chair the committee. Drexel has engaged longtime partner and executive search firm Isaacson, Miller (IM) to assist with the search.

Dean Paul Brandt-Rauf, PhD, Interim Dean Ali Shokoufandeh, PhD, and Interim Dean Kapil Dandekar, PhD, will continue to serve in their roles throughout the search. Aleister Saunders, PhD, executive vice provost for research & innovation, will continue to provide operational and strategic oversight, working closely with the leaders of the three units.

I would like to acknowledge and thank each of these leaders for the dedication, vision and collaborative spirit they have brought during this transitional period. Their continued leadership, along with the ongoing engagement of our Engineering, Biomed and Computing & Informatics faculty and professional staff, will be instrumental in positioning this new unit to be an innovator and differentiator for Drexel.

Sincerely,

Paul E. Jensen
