Arrival
Please read the below carefully and note that many of Drexel's Commencement Ceremonies are held in outdoor facilities. With the weather in mid-June being variable, but historically warm in the Philadelphia region, we encourage all guests to use precaution when deciding whether to attend a ceremony and to check the local weather leading up to June 11-13. A reminder that all ceremonies will occur rain or shine and will be livestreamed on the Commencement website.

University-Wide Ceremony, Citizens Bank Park
Thursday, June 12, 2025
Venue Considerations
Citizens Bank Park – located at the Sports Complex in South Philadelphia – is an outdoor facility with uncovered seating where the University-wide Commencement will take place on June 12. There are handicap-accessible sections at the top of all seating on the Main Concourse. We still encourage families to use precaution when determining guest attendance and reference the Accessibility section of the Commencement website.
The weather will be warm and it is recommended to dress in light clothing. Concessions will be available for purchase (including non-alcoholic beverages only).
Traffic around the South Philadelphia Sports Complex is typically heavy when large events are taking place. This may impact transportation and ceremony arrival. We recommend allotting plenty of time to arrive to the ballpark before the 5 p.m. ceremony start time. The gates to Citizens Bank Park will open at 3:30 p.m.
All gates will have metal detectors and guests are subject to bag checks.
Citizens Bank Park Bag Policy
- In an effort to expedite entry, guests are prohibited from bringing non-clear bags, including backpacks and draw-string bags, into the ballpark.
- Only clutch purses and/or fanny packs (no larger than 5" x 7"), clear bags (no larger than 12" x 6" x 12"), medical bags, and diaper bags will be permitted into Citizens Bank Park.
- All bags will be subject to inspection upon entry in accordance with Major League Baseball security regulations.
