    I wanted to not only be more informed about University vision and strategy, I wanted to also have an opportunity to communicate that vision to the broader alumni community.

    I joined the Alumni Board of Governors to increase its diversity and inclusion of young, Black professionals and to bring new ideas and perspectives for alumni engagement.

    I have traveled for a long time and lived in different countries. Through that I am fluent in 3/5 romance languages.

  • Why did you decide to become a member of the Alumni Board of Governors?
    I decided to become a member of the Alumni Board of Governors because being on the Board will hopefully put me in spaces to be able to advocate for the needs of the alumni community. I see my role as a liaison between the University and alumni, specifically our younger alumni. I want to be a diverse face in the crowd and help ensure that alumni can see themselves in this group that is meant to represent them.

    As a Drexel Student I served as vice president of the Drexel Interiors Group (DIG), was a columnist for the Triangle and waitressed at Drexel Pizza for my entire four-year academic career.

  • What’s something interesting about you that people would be surprised to know?
    Before landing at Drexel, I had never had (or heard of) cheese fries. Whiz, what?

  • Why did you decide to become a member of the Alumni Board of Governors?
    I will forever be part of the “Drexel Dragon” crew, and it makes me nostalgic for the past while enthusiastic for the future impact I can make as an integral part of the Board of Governors. I’m ready to forge a future where alumni are supportive of each other and promote the development of Drexel’s vibrant and diverse community.

    If not for my Drexel University experience, I passionately believe that I would not be as accomplished as I am today. My education shaped and formed me into a leader, and with heartfelt enthusiasm, I am driven to help young individuals come to this same realization and strive to reach their highest potential.

    I decided to become a member of the Drexel Alumni Board of Governors to leverage my experience in the music and entertainment industries to support and mentor young alumni. I believe in giving back to the community that played a crucial role in shaping my career and am eager to contribute to the growth and success of Drexel graduates, present and future.

    I have always been an active member in the Drexel community, whether it be serving as a Peer Leader, leading UNIV 101 classes to help new transfer students at LeBow College of Business or being a Peer Coach to help international students at LeBow to adapt and grow. As someone who came from an international background, Drexel was my home and my community.

    Opportunities
  • What’s something interesting about you that people would be surprised to know?
    When I was younger, I was an avid hiker and fisher. I used to spend every weekend in the mountains with my dad and our hiking group back in my hometown in China. I love the mountains.

    I believe in impacts, and I believe that through genuine connections and meaningful conversations, we can create more programming and engagements for Drexel alumni and dragons. I have the vision of creating a more personable and customized mentor-mentee matching mechanism to help students who want to learn about the different career paths available to them.

    I was a full-time staff member while I was a doctoral student, so I regularly supported many student organizations. Some of my favorites include Drexel Community Scholars, Lindy Scholars, and Sharing Excess.

  • What’s something interesting about you that people would be surprised to know?
    During my time leading the Lindy Center for Civic Engagement, I spearheaded the launch of CIVC101, Drexel’s introductory civic engagement course for first-year students. To date, over 30,000 students have taken the 1-credit course.

    To give back to the university that afforded me such incredible opportunities for personal and professional growth.
