Incoming Nursing ACE Students

Welcome to Drexel University, your new home! This is an exciting time for both you and all of us at Drexel.

Next Steps For All Incoming Nursing Accelerated Career Entry (ACE) BSN Students

Now that you're officially a Drexel Dragon, you're probably wondering about what happens next. Here are some important next steps you must complete before your first day of class.

Administrative

  • Pick up your computer accounts
As a Drexel student, you are entitled to computer accounts, such as email and DrexelOne. You must check DrexelOne regularly for important updates regarding placement tests and your tuition bill. Visit Drexel's Information Technology (IT) New Accounts page to pick up your accounts as soon as possible.
  • Monitor your Student Checklist
You can find your Student Checklist on the Welcome tab of DrexelOne. Be sure to check your Checklist regularly, as new items will appear over the course of the summer.
  • Review your Terms of Provisional Admission
As an admitted student, your admission letter can be found in your Discover Drexel portal. Please carefully review the Conditions of Your Acceptance section before the prerequisite deadline. Please also review the ACE Terms of Admission [PDF] found in your online admission letter.
  • Submit required I-20/DS-2019 application documents (International Students Requiring F-1 Visas)
Review the information for new international students on the International Students and Scholars Services (ISSS) website to learn about the I-20/DS-2019 application process, including how to electronically upload your documents via the Student Checklist on DrexelOne before the appropriate I-20 deadline.
  • Review Transfer Credit Evaluation
Carefully review the Transfer Credit Evaluation provided to you by the Academic Advising office. Any outstanding prerequisite requirements must be completed by the prerequisite deadline of January 15 for the spring term or August 1 for the fall term. Additional information about the prerequisite requirements can be found in the ACE Terms of Admission [PDF].
  • Review Drexel's computer and software recommendations
View them on IT's Computers and Software website before your term starts.
  • Pick up your DragonCard University ID
Once you have registered for your classes, you are eligible for the DragonCard, which you will need to access certain buildings on campus. Visit the DragonCard Office located in Room 124 of the Creese Student Center on the University City Campus or in Room 1603 of the New College Building on the Center City Campus to have your ID photo taken before June 30. You must show a valid state-issued ID (driver's license or passport).

Academics

  • Review and complete clinical compliance requirements
The College of Nursing and Health Professions has a compliance process that is required for every student. Some of these steps may take significant time to complete, so please plan accordingly. (Please note that certain requirements, including background checks and clearances, can only be completed post-confirmation.)
  • Submit your final transcripts
New accelerated nursing students are required to submit final official transcripts prior to the start of the term. These must be submitted to show proof of prerequisite and bachelor's degree conferral completion by January 15 (for spring entry) and August 1 (for fall entry). We recommend that you submit all official transcripts and supporting documentation electronically to enroll@drexel.edu. Otherwise, please mail to:

  • Contact Your Academic Advisor
Your academic advisor is here to help you throughout your time as a Drexel student. They will help register you for your courses here at Drexel, and they are a great resource regarding your next steps during the accelerated nursing program. You can learn more about your advisor in the College of Nursing and Health Professions.
  • Notify Disability Resources
If you have any physical or learning disabilities, notify Disability Resources before your first term starts. Drexel University is committed to providing equal access to its programs and services to qualified students.

Financial Aid & Billing

  • Review financial aid and billing information
There are important steps and planning you and your family should complete in order to ensure you are financially ready for the beginning of the year. View the New Student Financial Checklist to learn more.
  • Complete the FAFSA
U.S. citizens and permanent residents should also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), using Drexel's school code (003256). You should file the FAFSA as soon as possible.
  • Review outstanding financial aid requirements
You can check your status on DrexelOne. Drexel Central will send email notifications to your Drexel address when you have requirements that need to be completed.
  • Determine billing authorized user access
You can provide eBill access to your parents, guardians, and anyone else you wish to be an authorized user. Set up an authorized user.
  • Sign up for eRefunds
Sign up for direct deposit to receive refunds from your student accounts into the bank account of your choice. View more information about eRefunds and sign up.
  • Review the Family Education Rights Privacy Act (FERPA) Policy
FERPA protects your student record and personal information. Learn about what FERPA means for you and how your family can access your information once you start via the Drexel University Family Portal.

Campus Life

  • Complete the Housing and Residence Life (HRL) and Dining Agreement
If you are interested in on-campus housing, you must submit a $200 housing deposit and then the housing application. Transfer housing is assigned first-come, first-served and is filled on a rolling basis. After you receive your housing assignment, please confirm your move-in date with Housing and Residence Life. For students interested in our dining plans, these can be added to your account through DrexelOne.
  • Comply with Drexel's immunization policies
All full-time students must complete the Immunization Record Form by September 1 for fall starts and April 30 for spring starts. Visit the Forms page on the Health Insurance and Immunizations website to download the form. For more information, visit Health Insurance and Immunizations. Please note that accelerated nursing students will have additional immunization requirements. You can learn more about these requirements on the Clinical Compliance website.
  • Comply with Drexel's health insurance policies
All students must demonstrate proof of health insurance each year and either waive or enroll in the Drexel Health Insurance Plan at the beginning of each academic year (before September 30 for fall starts and before April 30 for spring starts). For more information, visit Health Insurance and Immunizations.
