Become a Student Ambassador

Ambassadors help advance the University's mission as they embody what it means to be a Dragon.

Why Join?

Student Ambassadors are at the forefront of the visitor experience at Drexel and serve the entire Drexel community as brand ambassadors by representing the University in various ways. Unlike leading a student organization, this is a selective paid campus position, and in order to ensure that the program maintains its high standard of service — students interested in joining the program are asked to complete and submit the Student Ambassador Application. Selected applicants will be invited to an interview. If offered a Student Ambassador position, students will need to successfully complete the necessary program training and background check process to become paid student employees. Being a Student Ambassador is a big responsibility, and that's why the process includes professional staff support, shadowing Lead Ambassadors, and taking advantage of professional development and training that will equip you to represent the University at events, on social media, and more.

Student Ambassadors play an important role in defining the Drexel experience for others, but there are also individual personal and professional benefits to joining the program.

About the Program

Welcome prospective students and families visiting Drexel through staffing the Admissions Visit Center.
Share your Drexel story with Future Dragons and their families at all Enrollment Management and Student Success events by mingling, giving tours, and answering questions.
Introduce families to the facilities and opportunities that Drexel provides, tell them about life as a college student in Philadelphia, and share your personal experiences as a Drexel student. Opportunities include events; daily Information Sessions and Tours; and special visits for school groups, international delegations, VIPs, and others.

Speak one-on-one and share your Drexel story with prospective students and families at events and during daily Information Sessions and Tours. Create a welcoming atmosphere for visiting families through casual conversation.

Highlight your Drexel program experiences during panel discussions at events. The panel discussions are intended to provide information informally through the panelists' answers to questions posed by the moderator or the audience. Discussions could be based around topics such as Drexel Co-op, study abroad, the Honors Program, and undergraduate research.
Show off your room during Enrollment Management and Student Success events or Information Sessions and Tours. Provide firsthand stories of what residence hall life is like at Drexel.

Application Process

Complete and submit the Student Ambassador Application. Refer to the application for important dates and deadlines.

New Ambassador Training Process

Training will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2025. It is mandatory for all new Ambassadors to participate in the program. Training day is where students will learn the basics of serving as Ambassadors. Trainees will learn more about how the program operates and will take their first mock tour with an experienced Ambassador, all while having fun and getting to know their fellow trainees!

If you are chosen to become a Student Ambassador, you are required to complete a series of training steps to ensure that you are a well-rounded tour guide for the University. Each training step, outlined below, must be completed by its deadline. Failure to complete training by the training deadline will result in removal from the program.

  • Presentation – Shadow the presentation that prospective students attend before going on their tour.
  • Shadow – Shadow a tour led by a veteran Student Ambassador.
  • Tour Quiz – Pass a quiz testing your knowledge of the University and its programs.
  • Mingling – Mingle with families in the Admissions Visit Center before their presentation.
  • Tag Tours 1 and 2 – Tag Team Tours with a Lead Student Ambassador.
  • Minor Compliance* – Complete all the required clearances to complete your training.

*Can be completed at any point in the training process after the training day but must be completed before Tag Tours.
