Occupational Therapy – Post Professional
Designed to be convenient for full-time working professionals, our post-professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) program uniquely positions you as a future leader, advanced content expert, or academic, with an emphasis on interprofessional collaboration. Choose an advanced specialty track that meets your needs and interests:
- The OTD in Health and Wellness program is designed to enable occupational therapists from any area of clinical practice to develop advanced/evidence-based expertise in holistic and innovative healthcare skills to assist individuals, groups or populations with or at-risk for chronic illness or disability. Students will be exposed to health assessment and health promotion activities across the life span, global and cultural perspectives, and community initiatives.
- The OTD in Remedial Vision Rehab program is designed to enable occupational therapists to gain a comprehensive understanding of vision problems prevalent in acquired brain injury and pediatric populations. Students will learn how to screen for the most commonly occurring problems and perform remedial vision rehabilitation for clients with these problems in an ongoing collaboration with an optometrist.
- The Teaching and Scholarship in Higher Education certificate prepares students for the role of teaching in graduate programs, developing courses, designing conference proposals, writing grant applications, and reviewing the manuscript submission process.
Merger pending approval by the United States Department of Education, specialized accreditors, and additional third parties.
