Here’s what was heard around campus in June.
Get Paid for Preventative Care With the Wellness Incentive Program
Benefits-eligible faculty and professional staff participating in Drexel’s popular Wellness Incentive Program can earn up to 400 points ($400 in their paycheck) for completing eligible wellness activities. Plus, eligible spouses and domestic partners can earn an additional $250 for completing their own wellness plan.
Did you know that you and your eligible partner can each earn up to $200 each ($50 per exam) for completing up to four preventative health care exams? Eligible preventative health exams include: an annual physical, a preventative mammogram (breast cancer screening), cervical cancer screening (a “pap smear”), a colon cancer screening, osteoporosis screening, prostate cancer screening, skin cancer screening or a vision exam (standard eye exam). As a bonus, you and your partner can also earn up to $100 each for attending two preventative dental visits (teeth cleanings). That’s 50 points ($50) per visit!
If you need help getting started with the program, please visit the HR website for a program overview, and be sure to check out the 2025 Wellness Incentive Program Guide in the sidebar of the page to learn more about the myriad of ways you can earn points (extra money in your paycheck).
Please note: the Personal Health Profile (PHP), worth 50 points ($50), must be completed each year before you or your partner are eligible to receive any payouts in your paycheck. Your PHP will provide a glimpse of your overall health. Log in to the Wellness Incentive Program at healthadvocate.com/drexel to complete your annual PHP today.

Staying SAFE: Hands-on Self-Protection Classes at Drexel
Public Safety’s self-protection program, Self-Awareness for Everyone (SAFE), is open to any student, faculty or professional staff member looking to develop skills for fostering their personal safety. Due to the hands-on nature of the class, it is strongly recommended that you register with a fellow Dragon. Participation in the techniques is recommended but not required. Registration is required 72 hours prior to the class. During the summer months, classes are available by request for your department or group. Monthly scheduled classes start back up in September.
Survey: Help SEPTA Improve Service to University City
University City District (UCD) is partnering with SEPTA to learn more about opinions and experiences of how you commute to work, including experience with the LUCY (Loop through University City) bus service, in order to improve service to University City. You’re invited to take this short survey (5–10 minutes to complete) that will help UCD and SEPTA better understand how Drexel faculty and staff interact with the service. Participation in this survey is voluntary; all responses will be reported in aggregate without personally identifying details. Upon completion of the survey, you may choose to enter a raffle to win a gift card to a University City area restaurant.
Fulbright Scholar Applications Available Through Sept. 15
Attention full-time and adjunct faculty and administrators: The application period is more than halfway over for the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program's 2026–2027 competition. You have until Sept. 15 to apply. Explore your options and start your Fulbright journey at fulbrightscholars.org.
- Fulbright offers faculty Fulbright Scholar awards to conduct research or teach abroad, or a combination of the two, for periods ranging from the five-month Flex Award up through an academic year. The Fulbright Specialist Program pairs highly qualified U.S. academics and professionals with host institutions abroad to share your expertise, strengthen institutional linkages, hone your skills, gain international experience, and learn about other cultures while building capacity at their overseas host institutions.
- The Fulbright International Education Administrator Award is a two-week funded seminar for U.S. higher education administrators to learn about participating countries’ higher education systems, to exchange information on best practices, or to explore the potential for partnerships with institutions of higher education and Drexel, and raise Drexel's profile abroad.
For assistance, you may contact Drexel's Fulbright Scholar Liaison Jeffrey Stanley, an adjunct in Westphal College of Media Arts & Design and a former Fulbrighter, at jas657@drexel.edu, at any point during your application process.
